Home Automation Melbourne Australia
There’s a lot of talk about ‘smart homes’ and ‘home automation’ going around, so what exactly do these terms mean? Home Automation refers to any system within your home that gives you control over the way you live. You can watch lights turn on as you walk down a dark hallway or the curtains close and the lights dim as your put on your favourite movie. Home Automation can control most, if not all, of the systems in your household with the stroke of a few keys, a signal from an iPhone, or even by just walking by. We at FM Home Tech (formerly FM Security, trading at Dandenong & Doncaster) can automate your home using your existing electrical framework, starting from as little as $3000.
FM Home Tech (formerly FM Security, trading at Dandenong & Doncaster) understands the fundamental principle that if you can’t understand, operate or feel comfortable with a Home Automation system, then it’s not really a ‘smart home’.
We have created a suite of products to complement and enhance your lifestyle, not complicate it. A true ‘smart’ home should be intuitive and simple to use, meaning the entire family can enjoy the experience.
Systems that can be designed to automate:
- Lighting systems that turn on when you’re around or at a certain time of the day
- Having the front gates open for you upon arrival or during the day
- Allowing your Home Theatre system to control your room, in order for you to have the best cinema experience
- Curtains that open with the rising of the sun and close with the setting of it
- Control of security system turning on and off
- Sprinklers that turn on during the day’s heat, to keep your garden watered
- Having your pool clean itself at certain times of day, so you always have crystal clear water
The first step in Home Automation however, is to tell us which system you want automated and how.
Use your iPhone as a remote control for your home
Apple’s iPhone is undoubtedly one of the most powerful mobile phones out there, which is owed to the massive library of applications in its ever expanding App-Store. FM Home Tech (formerly FM Security, trading at Dandenong & Doncaster) is taking full advantage of its capabilities in order to bring out the best in your home.
Using FM Home Tech iPhone Home Automation Kits, you are able to create what we fondly dub an iHome. Everything electric, from your lights to your electric blanket, can now be controlled remotely.
How does it work?
FM Home Tech iPhone Home Automation Kits allow you to control anything electrical in up to 4 ways: on and off, and bright and dim (for lamps and lighting). You use your iPod touch or iPhone as a remote control, whether it’s within your own home over its Wi-Fi internet, or anywhere else over the 3G network.
Setting up your iPhone is simple, just plug it into your computer’s USB, assign it an address, and enter that address into the provided FM Home Tech PC Software. From then on it is on your phone, allowing you to fully control that system with the tap of a finger.
With just a little time and effort, you can eventually automate and schedule tasks all over your home, from your kettle being boiled on those early mornings for you, or your lights turning on just in case you miss that alarm for work.
What can I do with it?
In each kit you’ll get the iPhone application, PC software, and various home automation components which may include light and lamp controllers. Best of all you get a system which can be fully expanded using any of our X10 home automation components. Once you’re comfortable with the use of the technology, you are then able to extend your system right around your house. FM Home Tech (formerly FM Security, trading at Dandenong & Doncaster) offers a full range of compatible add-ons including additional lighting, appliance and security controls that are all based on the same X10-compatible technology.
